Windham Mountain Activities
There’s a wide variety of Windham Mountain summer activities! With plenty of opportunities to experience the unique works of local Upstate New York artists, you can’t go wrong.
Gallery on Main
Located at 5380 Main St., this gallery showcases pieces by regional and national artists in a variety of artistic styles. You’ll find paintings, sculptures, furniture, and other forms of art.
Greene County Council on the Arts
Located at 398 Main St., the council hosts a variety of artists and exhibitions and offers resources and community grants to local artists. In the past few years, a major event hosted by Greene Arts is the Masters on Main Street, a variety of community art projects in the 300 and 400 blocks of Main Street.
Performing Arts
The Catskill Mountain Foundation (CMF) maintains The Doctorow Center for the Arts over in Hunter and screens films, houses the CMF Piano Performance Museum, and presents dance, theater, and music performances throughout the year. The center is about 15 minutes from Hotel Vienna.
Another option for live performances is another CMF facility, the Orpheum Film and Performing Arts Center, in Tannersville, NY. The stage here is most accommodating for dance performances but also hosts musical and theatrical events.
Windham Chamber of Music Festival
A local tradition since 1997, this festival is organized by the musical couple Robert Manno and Magdalena Golczewski. In 2017, the 23Arts Initiative took over the festival and runs it as Windham Music Festival with performances held in the Windham Civic Centre Concert Hall.
