 Roland Stafford Golf School
The Windham Country Club with accommodations at
the Hotel Vienna is the summer home to the Roland Stafford
Golf School. Since 1981 the hallmark of the schools
has long been their simple teaching method of golf instruction
created by the school’s namesake, Roland Stafford. Teaching
Professionals are selected not only on their knowledge
of the game but on their ability to communicate this

Skiing
We’re about as close as you can stay to fabulous Windham Mountain,
with the region’s finest downhill skiing, snow boarding, snow
shoeing, and other outdoor activities. Windham is famous for family
fun with ski instruction for children 3 years and up.
If skiing is not for you, try snow tubing. Just down the road from
the ski area, Windham Mountain has built a new Mountaintop Adventure
Park specially designed for snow tubing, with tube tows that bring
you and your tube back to the top for another ride down the hill.
For those of you not familiar with this activity, it's like
sleigh riding without the walk back up the hill.
For the enthusiast, the skiing resources in this region are inexhaustible.
Hunter Mountain is only 8 miles away, and Belleayre ski area is
only 30 miles away.
On your return from the slopes, relax with our heated indoor pool
and Jacuzzi.
Hiking, Biking & Kayaking
Windham lies within the pristine Catskill State Park, surrounded
by the beautiful Catskill Mountains. There are countless miles of
hiking and Mountain Biking trails in the area, for people of all
abilities. Mountain Bike rentals are available at Windham Mountain
Outfitters just one-quarter mile from the hotel. They also rent flat
water Kayaks which can be taken to a nearby lake for a day of paddling.
Trout fishing
If you like trout fishing, there are several sparkling mountain streams to try your luck
or skill in. At the base lodge of Hunter Mountain there is an Orvis store.

York State Museum (1 hr.). We are also about an hours drive from
many of the Hudson River Estates, home to many historical and famous
Americans including the Rockefellers and Vanderbilts.
Country cities
Hotel Vienna is the ideal stay if you enjoy exploring interesting
country cities. One and a half hours to the north is Cooperstown,
with its excellent shops, Glimmerglass Opera House and the Baseball
Hall of Fame. 45 minutesto the east is the notable town of Woodstock.
Half an hour to the east is Hudson, with many first rate antique
dealers.
Local Eateries
The Windham area has an abundant selection of excellent restaurants
and cafes including German, Italian, Seafood and American cuisine.
Some are within walking distance of the hotel and others are only
